Fans are not pleased about the The Brutalist using AI
RTB Updates
thertb.ai is now fixed after having some bugs going into the new year. I'm going to work on trying to start adding more guides, probably starting next week.
Trying to go with the new format where I just cover 3-4 main stories and provide a list of anything else that is interesting to read. That way, if you're interested, you can read them, but it doesn't overwhelm people with information, which is some of the feedback that I heard.

TL;DR: Fans are upset over the use of AI in "The Brutalist" to enhance the authenticity of Hungarian accents by refining specific sounds.
Key Points:
"The Brutalist" uses AI to refine Hungarian dialogue for authenticity.
Adrien Brody and Felicity Jones worked with a dialect coach, but AI was used for additional accuracy.
Adrien Brody won a Golden Globe for his performance amidst this controversy.
Why It Matters: This incident underscores a broader tension within the entertainment industry about the integration of AI. On one hand, AI can be seen as a tool for enhancing artistic expression, potentially allowing for more accurate portrayals across languages and cultures without actors needing to spend extensive time learning new dialects. However, it also raises concerns about authenticity, the devaluation of traditional skills, and job security for actors, dialect coaches, and other roles involved in performance preparation.
